1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of uri, including uri's websites, applications, family-management tools, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Our Privacy & Trust information explains how uri handles information and is available at /privacy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Accounts
Adult accounts are intended for people who are legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, authentication methods, devices, and credentials.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you have promptly reported unauthorized access.
Children do not independently create ordinary adult or family-owner accounts. Child access is provisioned and controlled through authorized adult-managed uri features.
3. Families, households, and authority
uri lets authorized adults organize families, households, children, calendars, chores, school information, and related family activities.
You are responsible for having appropriate authority to create or administer a family or household, add information about a child, invite another adult, assign household access, or share family information.
uri does not determine legal custody, guardianship, parental rights, or the legal authority of one adult over another.
The Service must not be used to grant access to information you are not authorized to share.
4. Co-parenting and selective sharing
uri provides tools that can help families coordinate across households.
Access to one household, child, calendar category, event, or other resource does not automatically provide access to other households, adult-private information, or unrelated family information.
Applicable household, child, role, category, and event-level restrictions continue to apply.
uri is an organizational service. It does not replace custody orders, parenting agreements, court orders, or professional legal advice.
5. Child information and child access
Authorized adults may provide limited information about children when needed to use family-management features.
uri is designed to minimize child information and give authorized adults control over child access and sharing.
Kid Mode and Kid Access are controlled by authorized adults.
Additional information about uri's privacy practices and family controls is available at Privacy & Trust.
6. Account and access security
You are responsible for protecting credentials and access mechanisms under your control, including account authentication, Kid Access credentials, private calendar subscription links, and invitation links.
You should revoke access when a person or device should no longer have it.
uri may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, families, data, or the Service.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use uri to:
- access another family, household, child, or account without authorization;
- impersonate another person;
- bypass or attempt to bypass access controls;
- probe, exploit, or interfere with security protections;
- send abusive or unsolicited invitations or notifications;
- transmit unlawful, malicious, or intentionally harmful content;
- disrupt the operation of the Service; or
- violate another person's privacy or legal rights.
We may restrict access when necessary to investigate or address abuse, security threats, fraud, or material violations of these Terms.
8. Invitations and shared access
Adult invitations are intended only for their designated recipients.
Receiving an invitation does not automatically grant family membership.
The recipient must satisfy uri's authentication and authorization requirements and explicitly accept an eligible invitation before membership or access is granted.
Invitation access remains subject to the role, household, child, and other permissions established by authorized family administrators.
9. Third-party services
uri may integrate with third-party services used for authentication, calendars, communications, payments, school information, notifications, and other functionality.
Third-party services operate under their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and technical limitations.
uri does not control the availability or operation of third-party services.
10. Google services
uri may allow you to authenticate using your Google account.
Google account authentication is separate from uri's optional Google Calendar integration.
Signing into uri with Google does not automatically give uri permission to access your Google Calendar.
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, uri will request separate authorization for the calendar permissions required by that feature.
Google is not responsible for and does not endorse uri.
11. School information
School calendars, lunch menus, closures, activities, and other school information displayed by uri may originate from schools or other public or authorized sources.
Information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or changed by its source.
You should verify important or time-sensitive school information with the school or another authoritative source.
12. Calendars, alerts, and notifications
Calendar synchronization, subscribed calendars, push notifications, email, SMS, and other alerts may depend on device behavior, provider availability, internet connectivity, user settings, and third-party refresh schedules.
uri does not guarantee that a notification, calendar update, or message will be delivered or received at a particular time.
You remain responsible for independently verifying important appointments, deadlines, exchanges, events, and schedules.
13. Chores and earnings
uri's chore and earnings features are organizational tools.
Balances or earnings displayed by uri do not constitute a bank account, stored funds, payroll service, money transmission service, or guarantee of payment.
Adults remain responsible for real-world allowance and payment arrangements.
14. Plans and pricing
uri may offer free, trial, paid, promotional, or complimentary access.
Current intended paid plans include:
uri Essential — $5.99 per household per month.
Essential includes a one-month trial. A payment method is required during setup. No subscription charge is made during the trial. Unless canceled before conversion, Essential continues at $5.99 per household per month after the trial.
uri Plus — $10.99 per household per month.
Plus does not include a free trial. A payment method is required and billing begins when Plus is selected once paid checkout is available.
Paid checkout is not currently enabled.
Prices, features, and plan structures may change prospectively. Where appropriate, uri will provide notice before changes affecting an existing paid subscription take effect.
15. Cancellation
When paid subscriptions become available, uri will provide subscription controls for managing future renewal or cancellation.
Specific cancellation, refund, and billing policies applicable at paid launch will be presented before a user purchases a subscription.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
16. Promotional and special access
uri may offer promotional, complimentary, trial, or special access subject to eligibility requirements or additional terms.
Such access may differ from generally available paid plans and may be modified or discontinued according to the terms applicable to that access.
17. Your information
You retain your rights in information you provide to uri.
You give uri permission to host, process, secure, display, synchronize, and transmit that information only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service or to perform actions you request.
uri does not claim ownership of your family or child information.
18. Privacy
Our current privacy practices and family controls are described at Privacy & Trust.
Some optional integrations require uri to transmit limited information to external providers in order to provide the feature you requested.
Your use of those integrations may also be governed by the provider's terms and privacy practices.
19. Service availability and changes
uri is actively developed.
We may add, modify, replace, or discontinue features as the Service evolves.
We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Where reasonably practical, we will seek to avoid unnecessary disruption to families using the Service.
20. Suspension and termination
uri may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of a material violation of these Terms, abuse, fraud, a security threat, legal requirements, or risk to users or the Service.
Account closure and data-handling requests remain subject to uri's applicable privacy, security, retention, and legal processes.
21. Important disclaimers
uri is a family organization and coordination service.
uri is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, emergency, or other professional services.
Information obtained from schools or third-party providers may not be authoritative or current.
You are responsible for verifying information when accuracy or timing is important.
22. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, uri and those involved in providing the Service will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.
23. Changes to these Terms
uri may update these Terms as the Service evolves or as legal, security, or operational requirements change.
The current effective date will appear at the top of this page.
When a change materially affects users' rights or obligations, uri will use reasonable means to communicate the change where required or appropriate.
24. Contact and support
Questions about uri or these Terms may be submitted through uri's existing Support experience.
Do not publish a support email address unless an actively monitored inbound support mailbox has been approved and configured.
